The Ryan Fellowship Nomination
Created by Accelerate Institute, The Ryan Fellowship is an elite national corps of new charter school principals uniquely qualified to accelerate student achievement
The Ryan Fellowship first identifies the highest-potential leaders among urban educators across the U.S., and then arms these outstanding educators with the tools and resources needed to close the achievement gap as leaders in our country’s charter schools.
Do you know an inspirational leader who possesses vision beyond the commonplace? Can you identify an educator who knows exactly where to go and how to get there? Help us discover a dynamic individual who has the personal vision, drive and skills to transform underperforming charter schools.
Ryan Fellows will embark on a three-year individualized leadership development program where they will be equipped with the resources to successfully lead an autonomous school in their region which will yield high academic achievement for students. Ryan Fellows participate in Accelerate Summer Institute at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management; a Field Study (residency) at a local charter school where they have the opportunity to complete an intensive action research program while receiving direct support and feedback from a Ryan Fellowship advisor; and support in the principal hiring process for autonomous schools in their region.
Through the generous support of the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Foundation, Ryan Fellows receive tuition, full salary and benefits during the Accelerate Summer Institute and the Field Study.
Charter schools are being invested in nationally as a key pathway for improving the educational lives of America’s children. While the best new schools achieve exceptional results, the explosion of new schools has outpaced the supply of leaders prepared to successfully lead them.
Become a part of the movement by helping us identify an elite national corps of high-impact leaders who can close the achievement gap for our nation’s charter schools.
The alignment between The Ryan Fellowship and my personal pathway—and how we’ve thought about leadership development at YES—there’s just automatic alignment there that I think made me really excited about it and curious to learn.
